(L.A.) Jesse Nishikawa, 33, Died at a Metro Station

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 33-year-old male that occurred on a public train platform.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Jesse Nishikawa and listed his race/ethnicity as Black.

Height: 6 feet 2 inches / Weight: 170 pounds

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Electrocution

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday.

The decedent’s surname is Japanese. He seemed to have been biracial African and Asian.

 
NEWS REPORT

LAFD said a man was electrocuted after coming into contact with the third rail on Metro tracks at a station in the Westlake District.

Firefighters responded at around 11:30 a.m. to the Westlake/MacArthur Park Station in the 600 block of South Alvarado Street.

The call they had received was about a “man down” on tracks shared by Metro’s B (Red) and D (Purple) train lines.
