(L.A.) Jerry Tate, 26, Died in Llano

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 26-year-old Black male that occurred on a highway in Llano.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Jerry Tate.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries

Other Significant Condition: Remote Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA)

RIP JERRY TATE (March 5, 1999 – April 6, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 7:26 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 27. Remote CVA refers to a stroke that had happened in the past.

The decedent was fatally injured in a two-vehicle crash near the Pearblossom (138) Highway.

California Highway Patrol said the crash happened at around 7:10 a.m. in the area of 165th Street East and Highway 138. It involved a sedan and an overturned SUV.

Llano is an unincorporated community located in L.A. County, near the San Bernardino County line.
