(L.A.) Jeffrey Hearley, 29, Ended His Life

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 29-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jeffrey Hearley.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Blunt Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 1:59 a.m.

Original speculation was that this may have been a hit-and-run pedestrian fatality. The medical examiner published his determination on July 25 that this was a suicide.

Video description: A pedestrian was struck and killed by a truck driver who fled the scene early Wednesday morning.

The Long Beach Police Department received a 911 call at approximately 1:50 a.m. regarding an unknown trouble call with a crashing sound on Locust Avenue and Seaside Way in Downtown Long Beach.

Police and fire department paramedics arrived to find one pedestrian with severe trauma, deceased in the roadway.
