(L.A.) Jeannie Huynh, 20, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 20-year-old Asian female that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the young woman as Jeannie Huynh.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

RIP JEANNIE HUYNH (August 17, 2004 – May 16, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 12:49 a.m.

The decedent was fatally injured in a hit-and-run collision as she crossed a street near the Green Meadows neighborhood of South LA.

LAPD responded at around 12:45 a.m. to Florence and Towne avenues for a collision involving a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Witnesses said the driver had been traveling east on Florence.

This is considered a hit-and-run crime because the driver drove away from the scene without stopping to render aid, which is an obligation under the law.
