(L.A.) Javier Magana Valdovinos, 37, Died in Santa Clarita

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 37-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street in Santa Clarita.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Javier Magana Valdovinos.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 12:58 p.m.
The decedent was fatally injured by construction equipment in Newhall.
Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the 24400 block of Arcadia Street at around 12:50 p.m.
The man was a member of a contract crew that was working on the Road Rehab Project, according to a spokeswoman for the city of Santa Clarita. During the annual Road Rehab Project, construction is done on local roads using slurry-seal and overlay road treatments to improve and maintain the city’s roadways.

The incident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. Friday in the 24400 block of Arcadia Street in the Newhall community.
What led up to the collision or the exact number of injuries is unclear. However, at least one person was pronounced dead at the scene, and another was transported to a trauma center by ambulance in unknown condition.
