Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday.

The decedent was hiking in the early morning and apparently was at a river crossing when she fell and was swept away by the strong currents.

The San Dimas Mountain Rescue Team posted about the incident on social media. They are urging the public to stay off the East Fork and Bridge to Nowhere Trail until the water levels drop.

The Bridge to Nowhere Trail follows the East Fork of the San Gabriel River. The trail itself runs alongside and crosses this branch of the river multiple times as it leads to the famous Bridge to Nowhere.
