(L.A.) Jaelen Chaney, 29, Died From Being Stabbed

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 29-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence in Woodland Hills.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Jaelen Chaney.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Stab Wound of Chest

RIP JAELEN ALLEN CHANEY (May 20, 1994 – April 8, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 8:05 a.m.

The decedent was an Air Force veteran who was fatally stabbed by his partner Danielle Johnson during an argument at their apartment residence.

Johnson thereafter would throw her kids out of their vehicle onto the 405 Freeway. Their baby girl died; her nine-year-old daughter survived.

About 30 minutes later, Johnson herself would die in a solo-vehicle crash in Redondo Beach.
