(L.A.) Jacqueline Zamarripa, 21, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 21-year-old Hispanic female that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Jacqueline Zamarripa of Long Beach.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt Traumatic Injuries

RIP JACQUELINE ZAMARRIPA (November 13, 2001 – June 16, 2023)

Pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 11:08 p.m.

The decedent was killed after being ejected from the front passenger seat of a pickup truck that was struck by a sport utility vehicle.

The collision happened at Willow Street and Caspian Avenue, west of the Los Angeles River.

She was riding in a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Willow, while a light-colored SUV was doing donuts or being driven in circles at the intersection.

The SUV struck the Chevrolet Silverado, causing the Silverado to lose control and collide with a tree in the center median.

The SUV driver, later identified as Saul Alfas, fled the scene but the following day surrendered at Long Beach Police Headquarters. He has been booked on charges of felony vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run causing injury or death.
