(L.A.) Hector Zepeda, 65, Died in Boyle Heights

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 65-year-old male that occurred in an alley.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Hector Zepeda.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Thermal Injuries and Inhalation of Products of Combustion

Other Significant Conditions: Blast Injury; Atherosclerotic and Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday afternoon.

LAFD had responded to the 3500 block of East Whittier Boulevard just before 3:30 p.m. for a recreational vehicle on fire.

The RV was parked in a narrow alleyway near an apartment building.

After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters discovered a body inside the vehicle.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “Hector Zepeda” in public records.
