Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 69-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Hector Montano Mendez.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Bacteremia and Pneumonia, Clinical

Other Significant Conditions: History of Paraplegia due to Gunshot Wound, Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Stroke

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 3:55 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on March 10.
