Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 44-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street in East L.A.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Guillermo Magallanes. Born in L.A. County.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday night.
The decedent had a very thick arrest record for numerous offenses, mostly related to public intoxication, tresspassing, and petty theft. He was likely homeless or transient.

At approximately 11:00 pm on March 16th, 2026, deputies and CHP officers responded to a reported vehicle versus pedestrian collision near Olympic Boulevard and Arizona Avenue in East LA.
Footage captured from a nearby home showed a man walking in a crosswalk against a red light when he was hit by a white vehicle. The impact threw the victim across the intersection.
The driver of the vehicle was seen pulling over after the collision. According to a witness, the driver ran out the vehicle and fled the scene.
Footage also showed multiple near-misses involving the pedestrian moments before the crash occurred.
The car appeared to have been a 2017 TOYOTA COROLLA iM, license plate 9HIN122.
