(L.A.) Ethan Abarca, 15, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 15-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the teen as Ethan Abarca of West Covina.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute Ethanol Toxicity

RIP ETHAN ALBERT ABARCA (July 16, 2007 – April 23, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 4:43 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 11/12, presumably after the results of tox screening came back from the lab.

This was a case of acute alcohol poisoning. The decedent drank too much over a short period of time.

Alcohol deaths can be classified as accidents under the assumption that the sots didn’t intend to kill themselves.
