The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Estela Abarca Fernandez.

Cause of Death A: Upper Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage

Cause of Death B: Ruptured Esophageal Varices

Cause of Death C: Idiopathic Cirrhosis of Liver

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 9:35 a.m.

Liver cirrhosis is the underlying condition that often leads to portal hypertension, which in turn increases the risk of both upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage and ruptured esophageal varices.
