(L.A.) Eric Looney, 26, Died in a Courtyard

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 26-year-old Black male that occurred in a courtyard.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Eric Looney.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl Intoxication

RIP ERIC LOONEY (December 5, 1997 – October 12, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 8:00 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on January 27, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
