(L.A.) Enrique Bonilla Escobar, 58, Died From Substance Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 58-year-old Latino male that occurred at a business.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Enrique Bonilla Escobar.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine and Alcohol Effects

Other Significant Conditions: Chronic Alcohol Use; Hypertrophic Heart Disease; Coronary Artery Atherosclerosis

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 4:34 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on February 9, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, substance overdose.
