(L.A.) Emily Martinez Gonzalez, 25, Died in a Vehicle

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 25-year-old Hispanic female that occurred in North Hollywood.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Emily Martinez Gonzalez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 1:00 a.m.

The decedent was driving north on Tujunga Avenue when her vehicle collided with another that was driving east on Sherman Way.

Police were called at around 12:40 a.m. to the site of the crash. Responding LAFD paramedics declared her beyond help. The driver of the second vehicle remained on the scene to cooperate with the investigation.

A truck was traveling east on Sherman Way, while a four-door sedan was traveling north on Tujunga Avenue. The two vehicles crashed into each other at the intersection. The sedan driver is believed to have been killed instantly. The truck driver was a 28-year-old male; he was transported to Holy Cross Hospital with minor to moderate injuries. The truck driver is currently not suspected to have been DUI. One of the two drivers is believed to have run a red light.
