(L.A.) Elvis Sanchez Ayala, 38, Died in a Vehicle

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 38-year-old Latino male that occurred in a vehicle.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Elvis Sanchez Ayala.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 3:27 p.m.

The decedent was shot dead while he was sitting in a vehicle in the Vermont Square area.

Officers had responded to a “shots fired” call at 51st Place and Denker Avenue at around 3:15 p.m. They found the victim seated in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, the suspect fled in a dark, four-door sedan. No description of the suspect was available, and the motive for the shooting is still unknown.
