(L.A.) Elmy Oquendo, 52, Died From Meth

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 52-year-old Latino male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Elmy Oquendo.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine Toxicity

Other Significant Condition: Congestive Heart Failure

RIP ELMY OQUENDO (January 12, 1971 – January 8, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 8:42 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on July 1, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the meth.

This is considered an accidental drug overdose.
