(L.A.) Eduardo Escobedo, 39, Died at an Industrial Lot

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 39-year-old Latino male that occurred at an industrial lot in Willowbrook.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Eduardo Escobedo.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

RIP EDUARDO ESCOBEDO (May 7, 1984 – November 23, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 8:35 a.m.

The decedent was a convicted drug trafficker linked to the Sinaloa cartel who worked for the son of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.

Escobedo was one of two men killed at 14208 Towne Avenue. The other victim was Guillermo De Los Angeles Jr., 47 years of age.

Escobedo was nicknamed “El Mago,” which translates to “The Magician.” Once the cartel’s top marijuana trafficker, he served four years and nine months in a federal lockup for conspiring to distribute more than 10,000 kilos of pot — about 22,000 lbs — and laundering drug proceeds. He was released in 2018.
