(L.A.) Derrik Brown, 36, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 36-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Derrik Brown.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute Fentanyl and Alprazolam Intoxication

Other Significant Conditions: History of Unspecified Mental Illness and Substance Abuse

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 10, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
