Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 44-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Derrick Gettes.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Dilated Cardiomyopathy

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 12:12 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on June 11, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back negative for substances.
