Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 55-year-old Black male that occurred at an airport.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Derek Jones.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

RIP DEREK JONES (September 15, 1968 – August 22, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 10:26 a.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on September 18, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back negative for substances.
