(L.A.) Davon Dean, 39, Ended His Life

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 39-year-old Black male that occurred in a vehicle.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Davon Dean.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Perforating Gunshot Wound of Head

RIP DAVON DURELL DEAN (January 8, 1985 – October 15, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 3:43 p.m.

The decedent was a Santa Monica College employee who shot his coworker on campus Monday night.

Dean was located by police in El Segundo, who initiated a pursuit of his vehicle. After a PIT maneuver succeeded in stopping the vehicle, a standoff ensued, during which the suspect killed himself.
