(L.A.) Daniel Smith, 49, Died From Drugs

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 49-year-old White/Caucasian male.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Daniel Smith.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Effects

Other Significant Condition: Alprazolam and Hydrocodone Effects

RIP DANIEL SMITH (June 30, 1974 – March 9, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on May 6, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, polydrug overdose.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “Daniel Smith” in public records.
