The coroner’s office has identified the man as Daniel Hieu Pham of Porter Ranch. Born in L.A. County.

Patients with diffuse alveolar damage and probable vaping-associated lung injury (EVALI) who also experience myocardial infarction (heart attack) are frequently younger than typical cardiac patients. Published case reports and clinical studies indicate that severe complications associated with vaping are most often observed in individuals in their 30s and 40s—much younger than the typical age for heart attacks in the general population.
