(L.A.) Daisy Cruz Torres, 14, Died in a Two-Vehicle Crash

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 14-year-old female of Latin American ethnicity that occurred at an intersection.
The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Daisy Cruz Torres.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 4:37 p.m.
The decedent was fatally injured when the off-road vehicle she was riding in overturned after colliding with a car in the Antelope Valley area.
The fatal incident happened at around 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, near 165th Street East and Avenue V.
Torres was a passenger in a 2021 Polaris RZR that was traveling westbound on an unincorporated dirt road, east of 165th Street East, when the Polaris collided with a 2016 Honda Civic that was traveling northbound on 165th Street East.
The girl was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Polaris — 23-year-old Carlos Cruz Torres of Palmdale — sustained major injuries and was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital. Two other passengers in the Polaris — 20-year-old Christa Smith and a 17-year-old girl, both from Palmdale — also sustained major injuries and were transported to Antelope Valley Hospital. The Honda Civic’s driver, 31-year-old Percy Noe Jr. Yancor of California City, sustained moderate injuries in the crash.
