(L.A.) Courtney Byas, 49, Died From Drug Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 49-year-old Black male that occurred on a sidewalk.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Courtney Byas.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine
Other Significant Condition: Recent Cocaine Use
RIP COURTNEY BYAS (March 18, 1974 – December 4, 2023)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 1:03 p.m.
The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on March 6, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs.
