Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 39-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Cody Monroe.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Renal Failure

Cause of Death B: Diabetes Mellitus, Unknown Type

Other Significant Conditions: Severe Malnutrition, Coronavirus 229E

RIP CODY MONROE (February 27, 1985 – February 6, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on May 8.

HCoV-229E is one of seven known human coronaviruses. In healthy adults, HCoV-229E typically causes mild symptoms such as runny nose, cough, and sore throat.
