(L.A.) Christopher Washington, 55, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 55-year-old Black male who passed away at the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Christopher Washington.

STATUS: The decedent’s body is ready to be released. Ruling by the deputy medical examiner is deferred pending additional investigation.

Manner and cause of death will be added to this page when it becomes available.

If the DME has ordered toxicological screening, the next public update may take three to five months.

Formal pronouncement of death was made early Monday morning.

The decedent was found unresponsive by California Highway Patrol at around 12:30 a.m. in the driver’s seat of a silver Dodge Neon facing sideways and blocking the southbound HOV lane of State Route 14.
