The coroner’s office has identified the man as Charleston Dacoff and listed his race/ethnicity as Latin American.

The decedent appears to have been from Belize. He was released from imprisonment in 2020 primarily because of the coronavirus situation. In arrest records for driving under the influence in 2016, he is described as being Black.
