(L.A.) Carlos Montoya, 58, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 58-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Carlos Montoya.

Cause of Death: Sequelae of Blunt-Force Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday.

The decedent was injured on the 210 Freeway as he was apparently running away from an ICE raid in Monrovia.

He is assumed to have fled from the scene, crossed Evergreen Avenue and entered the eastbound 210 Freeway.

California Highway Patrol said they received a report just before 10:00 a.m. that an individual had been hit by an SUV on the freeway near Myrtle Avenue.

The Guatemalan consulate would later confirm that he was Roberto Carlos Montoya Valdez from Jutiapa, Guatemala.
