(L.A.) Carl Williams, 82, Died on the Fourth of July

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of an 82-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at an independent living facility.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Carl Williams.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Tramadol and Duloxetine Toxicity

RIP CARL WILLIAMS (November 21, 1940 – July 4, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 3:19 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on November 10, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drugs.

Duloxetine, sold under the brand name Cymbalta among others, is a medication used to treat major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, fibromyalgia, and neuropathic pain.
