(L.A.) Cameron Flores, 1, Died at a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a one-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the child as Cameron Flores of Palmdale.

STATUS: The decedent’s body is ready to be released. Ruling by the deputy medical examiner is deferred pending additional investigation.

Manner and cause of death will be added to this page when it becomes available.

If the DME has ordered toxicological screening, the next public update may take three to five months.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 9:39 a.m.

LASD deputies had responded to Melville J. Courson Park, located at 38226 10th Street East, shortly before 9 a.m. on and made contact with the boy’s father, who, according to investigators, said his son was suffering from a medical emergency.

Shaffer Grindstaff, 29, was arrested on suspicion of accessory to conceal a crime and child endangerment. His bail has been set at 1 million dollars.

Neighbors said the child lived with his father in an apartment complex across the street from the park.

On Linkedin, Grindstaff wrote that he worked as an automotive consultant for Infiniti of Valencia starting in 2018. He stads six feet tall and weighs 190 pounds.
