Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 28-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Bryce Jones.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Sudden Cardiac Dysfunction

Cause of Death B: Idiopathic Cardiomyopathy

Other Significant Conditions: Hypertension, Sickle Cell S-C Disease, Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures, Chronic Tobacco Use

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.

Hemoglobin SC disease is a form of sickle-cell disease. It causes pain episodes and a type of anemia.
