(L.A.) Brandon Garcia, 18, Died on the 105 Freeway

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of an 18-year-old Latino male that occurred on the 105 Freeway.

The coroner’s office has identified the young man as Brandon Garcia.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 11:00 p.m.

The decedent died in a fiery two-vehicle crash on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in South L.A.

California Highway Patrol heard about the accident at around 10:44 p.m. The scene was at the Vermont Avenue exit of the westbound 105. Officers found a sedan on the freeway’s right shoulder and another vehicle on fire in the HOV lane.

The government investigator had initially misspelled the decedent’s surname as Garcua.
