(L.A.) Bai Wu, 68, Died at Men’s Central Jail

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 68-year-old Chinese male that occurred while in the custody of the Sheriff’s Department.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Bai Wu.
Height: 5 feet 6 inches / Weight: 155 pounds
Manner of Death: Suicide
Cause of Death: Hanging

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday.
The decedent had just been arrested on May 8 by El Monte PD.
He was remanded without bail on the following charges:

Guards found him lifeless inside his cell at MCJ, which is located at 441 Bauchet Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012

This is LASD’s 18th in-custody death for the year.
