(L.A.) Arleen Vasquez, 35, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 35-year-old Hispanic female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Arleen Vasquez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Exsanguination

Cause of Death B: Traumatic Wound of Right Internal Iliac Artery

RIP ARLEEN VASQUEZ (February 8, 1079 – August 4, 2014)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 1:45 p.m.

The decedent had undergone “Brazilian butt lift” surgery.

This was subsequently the subject of a medical malpractice lawsuit.

Two medical examiners from other jurisdictions testified that the it was a physical and anatomic impossibility for the defendant surgeon to have been anywhere near the right internal iliac artery.

In essence, L.A. County’s medical examiner Ajay Panchal was alleged to have made an incorrect determination of cause of death.
