Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 41-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Arian Phillips.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl

Other Significant Condition: History of Schizophrenia

RIP ARIAN PHILLIPS (February 17, 1983 – June 5, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 8:32 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on August 13, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug.
