The coroner’s office identified the woman as April Saez. Born in L.A. County.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.

Hysteroscopic myomectomy is supposed to be a minimally invasive procedure for removing fibroids.

Fibroids are non-cancerous tumors. Removal should be considered only if they cause symptoms affecting the person’s quality of life, such as unbearable pain that is worse than death.

Based on a study in South Korea, the mortality rate after myomectomy is 0.013 percent. No studies have been done in noseringed tatted countries where decades of affirmative action have produced worse medical and surgical outcomes.
