(L.A.) Anne Kissel, 60, Died at a Sobering Center

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 60-year-old White/Caucasian female that occurred in a sobering center.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Anne Kissel.

STATUS: The decedent’s body has been released. Ruling by the deputy medical examiner is deferred pending additional investigation.

Manner and cause of death will be added to this page when it becomes available.

If the DME has ordered toxicological screening, the next public update may take three to seven months.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 2:45 a.m.

The government investigator noted that the decdent had a medical history that included cellulitis of left lower limb, hypertension, respiratory tuberculosis, chronic gastric ulcer with hemorrhage, unspecified viral hepatitis c, cirrhosis from drug use, and chronic alcohol abuse. Urine toxicology on January 11 had been positive for benzos and alcohol.
