Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 31-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Alonso Figueroa.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Head Trauma

Wrong-Way Driver Traffic Collision Leaves 1 Dead in West Covina

One person was killed in a traffic collision involving a wrong-way driver in West Covina early Friday morning.

The fatal collision occurred around 12:16 a.m. in the 1700 block of West Puente Avenue.

Upon arrival, West Covina Fire Department personnel and police officers found two vehicles with multiple people trapped inside both cars.

According to the West Covina PD, preliminary investigation revealed that the adult male driver of a black Toyota sedan was driving in the opposite lane of travel when it collided head-on with a white Honda sedan with four occupants.

FD paramedics pronounced a male deceased at the scene. He was a rear passenger of the Honda.
