(L.A.) Alicia Todd, 21, Died in an Alley

Case Number: 2015-04350

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 21-year-old Black female that occurred in an alley in Long Beach.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Alicia Todd of Signal Hill.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wounds to the Head

RIP ALICIA TODD (September 20, 1993 – June 24, 2015)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 1:24 a.m.

The decedent had gone to Planned Parenthood a day earlier for testing to confirm her suspicion that she was pregnant. She was later found shot dead in an alley between Orange and Lemon avenues, north of 21st Street. She was clutching a pair of keys, indicating that she had intended to return home, but her cell phone was never found.

DNA testing on embyronic material recovered from the victim showed that it contained DNA that matched the genetic profile of Tremaine Lewis, who would be found guilty of the murder in May 2024. He had been behind bars since he was arrested by Long Beach police in February 2016.

The conjecture is that the woman’s pregnancy had complicated the man’s relationship with his real girlfriend.
