(L.A.) Ali Phannix, 43, Died in an Alley

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 43-year-old Black male that occurred in an alley.

The coroner’s office has identified the individual as Ali Phannix.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

RIP ALI JABBAAR PHANNIX (July 21, 1981 – August 18, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 6:59 a.m.

The decedent was a homeless man who was fatally shot near the Michelle Obama Library in North Long Beach. He was born Ali Jabbaar Richardson in L.A. County. His father’s surname is Richardson, and his mother’s maiden name is Jenkins.

In October, 32-year-old Hector Perez of Lynwood was identified by the Long Beach Police Department as a suspect.
