(L.A.) Alfredo Flores, 51, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 51-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Alfredo Flores.

RIP ALFREDO ‘FREDDY’ FLORES (January 21, 1973 – April 20, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 11:46 p.m.

The decedent was one of the two sheriff’s deputies who were severely burned in an explosion and fire in a mobile shooting range at the Pitchess Detention Center back in October. He survived in the hospital for about six months.

LASD has not released details of the conditions and circumstances that led to the October 10 incident at the mobile shooting range of Castaic jail. Both deputies were initially taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, then were later transferred to Los Angeles General Medical Center for treatment.
