(L.A.) Alfred Grier, 62, Died While in Sober Living

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 62-year-old Black male that occurred at a sober-living facility.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Alfred Grier. Born in L.A. County.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Arteriosclerotic and Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Conditions: History of Diabetes Mellitus, Effects of Methamphetamine and Phencyclidine, Recent Cocaine Use

RIP ALFRED L GRIER (November 6, 1961 – October 27, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 12:25 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late February, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, polydrug overdose.
