(L.A.) Alexander Espino, 19, Died at a Freeway Off-Ramp

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 19-year-old Latino male that occurred at a freeway off-ramp.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Alexander Espino.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Chest

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 2:32 a.m.

The decedent was driving a car on the 10 Freeway when he was shot by a motorcyclist. Despite being shot multiple times, Espino managed to pull over. Paramedics would soon find him lifeless at the scene.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to an area of the freeway near the Via Verde exit around 2:16 a.m.. Upon arriving, they found a person shot inside a white Chevy Camaro on the right shoulder of the freeway. A 19-year-old passenger was also inside the car but was not struck by the gunfire.
