Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 63-year-old Caucasian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Alexander Czanik.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl, Propoxyphene, and Alprazolam Toxicity

Other Significant Conditions: Left Ventricular Myocardial Hypertrophy, Atherosclerotic Heart Disease, Patchy Pulmonary Fibrosis, Status Post Laminectomy with Vertebral Fusion, and Degenerative Disc Disease

Propoxyphene is an opioid analgesic used to treat mild to moderate pain. It was patented in 1957 by Eli Lilly and Company and is the generic name for Darvocet and Darvon.
