Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 34-year-old Caucasian male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Aksel Jamgocyan of Glendale, California.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Sepsis

Cause of Death B: Acute Staphylococcal Pneumonia

Other Significant Condition: Chronic Drug Abuse

Jamgoçyan is a Turkish surname. The decedent’s forename is also common in Turkey.

According to Burbank PD, the decedent was employed in flooring when he was arrested at 1301 North Victory Place in August 2021. He was charged with possession of heroin/cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sepsis and septic shock can result from an infection anywhere in the body, including pneumonia. Pneumonia can be community-acquired, meaning that a person becomes ill with pneumonia outside of the hospital.
