Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 13-year-old Asian male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the young teen as Aaron Gene Ilano.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Ligature Hanging

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 7:43 p.m.

The decedent was a member of the Geometry Dash gaming community. His online handle was “thewhalecamefirst,” which on YouTube had more than a thousand subscribers.

The decedent may have been of Filipino descent.
