(L.A.) Tom Knox, 32, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 32-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Tom Knox.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death A: Sepsis-Associated Pneumonia

Cause of Death B: Decubitus Ulcer

Cause of Death C: Traumatic Myelopathy

Cause of Death D: Remote Gunshot Wound to Spine (History)

Other Significant Conditions: Cachexia, Anemia (Clinical), Epilepsy (Clinical)

RIP TOM KNOX (October 14, 1974 – December 21, 2006)

The man had been shot some time in the past and had been staying in a hospital where he developed the other conditions that ultimately led to his death.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.

Myelopathy is an injury to the spinal cord caused by severe compression that may be a result of spinal stenosis, disc degeneration, disc herniation, autoimmune disorders or other trauma.
